ABOUT PGECL

PGECL, formerly Pakistan Guarantee Export House (PGEH), was established in 1999 under the Registration of Export Houses Order (1990) of Ministry of Commerce, Govt. of Pakistan with the objective of facilitating trade & commerce with international partners in view of the prospective globalization agenda. The export house, in its early days spent considerable effort and resources towards building in-house expertise in the areas of export promotion & marketing through several research & training exchanges with international partners in the GCC, East Asia, Europe & the Americas. Soon, the export house had developed robust models for the marketing & promotion of its client’s products & services abroad and engrained in PGEH’s philosophy was to go beyond mere outreach in terms of marketing and to ensure the actual realization of business for its clients through a three-tier policy of: Outreach, Engagement and Generation.

In 2002, PGEH converted to a Private Limited Company in order to expand & transform its Export and Buying House roles into a full-service solution for the rapidly-growing client base. In the following years, PGEH engaged heavily in the Fair & Exhibition business in order to fulfill the ‘Outreach’ goal and successfully managed to organize 100+ Pakistan Pavilions abroad (2002-2007) including dozens of Single-Country ‘Made in Pakistan’ Expos. Record flow of Orders and the remarkable export achievements of the early 2000s are a testament to the exemplary performance of PGEH. In view of Pakistan Guarantee’s role in the international standards training, capacity building, mass outreach and FDI attraction for the country’s export industry, the Prime Minister of Pakistan, H.E Mr. Shaukat Aziz, awarded the organization with the Prime Minister’s Trophy for Export at the 1st LCCI Achievement Awards held in Lahore, Pakistan on 17.05.2005

In 2006, Pakistan Guarantee Export Corporation Ltd (PGECL) was established as PGEH evolved into a Public Limited Corporation with a paid-up capital of PKR 70 Million which enabled the organization to further its agenda but now at a larger scale and for a greater audience. The coming years saw the establishment of the organization’s offices across five continents with a dedicated team of professionals, available around the clock, to guide small, medium and large industries through every single international query and order. PGECL remains committed to the overhaul of the Export Industry of the Country through a continuous process of analyses, standardization and innovation.

PGECL today operates one of the country’s largest export buying houses in conjunction with a sound services-wing offering its clients an array of services from Export Marketing, Export Certifications, Trade Shows & Delegations, Export Refinance, FDI Consulting to International Commercial Arbitration & Trade Debt Recovery. The organization continues to play a vital role in the persistent re-definition of the conventional export items to include new Services, I.T Solutions, Human Resource and unconventional export products like Real-Estate, Financial Instruments and Capital.
